Description
Join artist and instructor Kim Keats as she provides instruction and the materials for the creation of a votive form that has both enclosed and open areas, which utilize the art elements space and light, and incorporate the design principal balance. Participants will learn wood joinery techniques to fabricate the framework constructed from basswood strips. Mulberry paper will be applied to the framework structure using glue to create enclosed spatial areas. Wood joinery techniques using sawing tools, clamps and glue will be taught and students will learn to measure, cut, and apply mulberry paper to wood votive structures. Participants will complete one wood and paper constructed votive structure.
