American Sign Language Class
Description
Join deaf instructor Georgia Cline to begin or continue learning the basics of American Sign Language (ASL). Students will learn basic vocabulary and grammar of ASL. Upon completion of this class, students will be able to exchange basic information about themselves and their families such as names, where they live and their interests. Through out of class readings, in-class discussions and demonstrations, and experiences within the deaf community, students will be exposed to elements of the deaf culture and community. Bring a friend or family member and learn ASL together. Students should bring a notebook or paper to take notes, and it is also recommended, but not required, that students purchase the ?American Sign Language Phase Book; 3rd Edition? by Lou Fant and Barbara Bernstein Fant. The book is available on Amazon.
